The viking line inducer is quite expensive, are there any cheaper ones or ones you guys use that do the same job? thanks

a 9v battery tap into phone line(or use a power brick), and use a cassette player with a pre recorded dial tone tapped into phone line(or use a .wav file from soundcard).
the cheapest setup is to build a pc-dc server with parts that can typically be found for no money at all.
using obsolete parts that people practically throw away or donate.
another cheap way is to simply play the pc versions of these games instead of the dreamcast version.

the BBA only really makes a difference with Q3A..
for a guy like me whos primary goal was to get online with Q3A and be competitive.. it was a must have..
I have zero regrets spending 140$ on one...
that said.. I also wasted no time getting a DreamPi on the way in the mail.. I dont even think I played a single game of Q3A before I had mine..

Cheapest way for Dreamcast is to build a Line Voltage Inducer for less than $10
PC has a video on how to make one. If you dont want to make one ill try to find someone who make one and can ship to UK. I know USPS does international flat rate boxes

The BBA is great for XDP as well as Q3A but realistically, it's for Q3A and most likely needed for UT if it comes back online.
