I was the only one with the compression algorithm until today, so I'm sure no one is working on it, you can do it.
P.S. I am not the author of the packing algorithm, I contacted through an intermediary, but I am sure that this is the author's github

Here is another tool to help you translate the main bin file (1_SGGG.BIN). I used the values pomegd extracted and made a UI to make things easier.
I believe this is not the correct way because we are limited by the JAP char length. The tool will measure the altered string and cut the end if it is bigger from the original one and then write the changes. For every change you need to press the change button (I can make it to write changes on the fly while you type if you want). Also you can jump to location by the search box.

MRG Extraction and Rebuild is working on both HW and Emulators.
No issues on compression either!

Hi everyone, figured it's been a few days so I should post an update.

I've only got one and a half STORY.MES files remaining to integrate into game. STORY00 is the longest, and I'm about halfway through it. It's mostly dialogue updates on the games that Dogma is creating, their titles, descriptions, and so on, along with some motivational text for the main character.

Following that, I'll take a look at the main binary and see if I have some success updating some of it to English.

On the texture front, we're hovering around 97% complete...because we keep finding and adding more! There may be some background textures for the RPG dungeons that I may redraw, but I'm debating this on a case-by-case basis. Unless there is an explicit joke, nod, or reference, I'm hesitant to translate this stuff to English as it should feel that your character is going about the game IN JAPAN, and not in America. That's what makes the game unique in the first place. So we'll see what I do there as I take a look at those textures in greater detail.

Usually a .dcp patch is released and you can patch a retail copy of the game which you can play on console.

Great work, Vincent!

I've also done some hacking on the game executable to clean up the name entry screen, as well as to add customization to the font sheet. This will also enable others to develop translation patches into other languages in the future.
