I recently downloaded the game for my phone and played using an emulator. I've got to say that it's just as amazing as I remember,

I really like it! But it looks so weird (from a historical standpoint) Only Nintendos "seal of quality" would have made it strangely perfect.

Do we have self-booting SNES games? I may just try to track down an appreciation bundle. Available at international airports exclusively in Nintendo-Sega World locations.

What about individual self-boots of the goodness found within Super Mario All-Stars? I have seen them at certain airports.
Super Mario Bros. DC & Super Mario Bros. HD

Eh, without having the game handle loading differently instead of like the SM64 DC port, larger games will not be possible. I mean sure it is possible but you are going to need to redo how sound systems are and make it not load the full game assets into memory at startup which is exactly how SM64 is now. That in and of itself is the single major hindrance to porting these N64 PC versions onto the DC. On PC we have "infinite" memory somewhat. Dreamcast has 16mb, so stuff like this game, or even Goldeneye 007 is not going to be possible unless they are handled like the official N64 ports to DC were done back in the day by the actual developers.

That being said, I recently compiled OOT about 3-4 days ago and really falling in love with it all over again. Only issue was my all AMD system has to run it in DX11 mode as OGL support is lacking. But it is a pipe dream for mine as well that we will see more of these N64 ports running on DC at their full potential. Slowly and surely more and more mods will surface for this game. Can't wait for all textures to get upscales and maybe even port over the 3DS version assets to it, and then upscale textures even further. Infinite render distance like the SM64 mods would be great to see too so not as bad pop up of characters and objects.
