i have started Silver about 3 or 4 times only to quit after a few hours of play. i always have the intentions to come back and continue the game but, it never interested me enough to go back to it.

Yes, I struggled with Silver for ages. It's very 'english' compared to most other Dreamcast Rpgs, not everyones cup of tea really

Let me just say that Silver is not worth anyone's time. Harsh, I know but let me explain

. Silver was originally released on the PC and was a larger game with much more option in regards to character(s!) control. You could control other characters fighting with you in a flash and give them preset play styles that were not available on the DC and effectively broke the game. Also, besides the fact that there is a far superior version available, the game has some very strange design decisions that really hurt what could be an awesome game. I thought the combat system was superb so I really wish the game panned out a bit better, I just think it gets a bit much credit due to its relative rarity but it really isn't worth playing IMO.

Well I'm not sure Silver does get that much credit - most people I know think it's fucking terrible ! Lol
I didn't realise the PC game was so different but I can see that those changes do seem like backward steps. I did struggle with the game occasionally but still enjoyed it, though I played it mainly for the story and graphics. Nowadays it seems so old fashioned but, then again, I remember thinking the same thing back when it released haha
