But I think you're missing a big point about this gen's machines/specs.

What would you rather have. Another wave of bland, colourless, photorealistic first person shooters or innovative, colourful, unique and fun games from the creative minds of japanese developers.

If Sony(sorry MrSega) and especially Microsoft continue publishing the same boring franchises, I myself will be bloody glad to have Nintendo's new system.

Brown and boring or colour and creativity: make your choice.

i was saying sony used the dvd concept for a gimmick to buy ther gaming system im not promoting sony if anything i want sony and microsoft to tank. no one messes with nintendo unless your sega. thats the hardware war i want to see real gaming companies battling out with all they got with true creativity and imagination. not hundreds of the same fps games yea im not gonna lie c.o.d is a fun competition game but thers way way way extremely way more to gaming then fps. people lost that concept of real gaming the fps needs to fad out already.

hopefully people fad out c.o.d just like when tony hawk pro skater was the shit it had a long run with popularity but hundreds of the same game being made just different levels and music they got sick of it and moved on.

I take your point. Actually, I pretty much agree with a lot you just said.

I think between the late nineties and early this millenium that a lot companies were producing games of high callibre and were at their highest level of creativity. There are still great games being produced but some of the magic has been lost. Publishers think they are playing safe, but long term I think the industry will pay a high price for such conservatism.

Sega should be at the front and leading a new wave of games that utilise new technology for true creativity and produce videogames that appeal to all sections of society but, alas, not only are they far away from getting back into hardware, but also they are a shadow of the creative force they used to be

Tony Hawks is a good example. Don't get me wrong, it was a great game(spent many hours playing THPS1&2 on DC) but Sega had their own take: Jet Set Radio !!

@NeoHound. I truely understand your liking for Nintendo. I like them two & think they've always made fantastic handheld techonlogy which is what their better at doing. But since Gamecube, thier systems have been weak. With Wii, I just wasn't intriged by the motion sensor gimmick. You'll be happy to know I skipped out this gen. I don't own a single console. I am looking foward to owning SEGA's dc Pad/KP tablet because it will bring us one step closer to the reality of a SEGA high end console competing alongside Wii U & Xbox Loop.

@SEGATUDE. I don't care for COD,Battlefield or any of those tired ass FPS. You'll be happy to know that Sony is headed for dark waters. Vita is off to a very rocky start in Japan,their electronics division continues to struggle. If this keeps up,they'll FINALLY be out of the hardware business.

You should be happy that SEGA is going digital only multiplatform wise. It's thier way of saying "F you" to all the people that said that all thier games suck. And it'll save SEGA a ton of money in R&D and in Operating Income.

it has its ups and downs. im glad sega isn't giving attention to other gaming companies like they were but i like having my games physically. not digitally. i mean its cool cause i do own some digital sega games but its not something i want done permanently or done in general with ther games. if they have to do this financially to help make a console fine im all in but when they launch ther console i want ther ip's physically cased with the console having digital downloads too.

Yeah I agree I like havin somethin I can touch plus its faster than waiting for a download...i wanna buy unwrap turn on and game...plus on a workdwide scale they'd lose a lot of sales...

Well first they've gotta start making good games again. Shit games won't sell whether they are downloads or discs wrapped in shiny gold paper.

Get good and successful at making games again and then maybe........just maybe they could start thinking about taking on the big boys once again
