The good old model swap mod? I did similar in the Xbox version of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 to drive the traffic cars lol.

Nope, just modified the config files. Changed the number and speed of the boats and planes as well as the number of "pets" (99 to be specific lol).

I did a quick cheap MS Paint "copy, crop'n'paste" back cover. I hope someone can make a better one than my rendition.

That doesn't look all that bad Bob. Just add controller, VMU, modem support at the bottom and it would look official to me.
