its possible but however unlikely that sega would just go out of business, unless microsoft buys them or something. They've managed to stay consistently as a third party publisher for more than 2 decades.

They dont have to worry about hardware, the closest thing they have to hardware is licensed Plug and Plays in the Americas. As much as it would be nice to at the very least see official Dreamcast support come back or something far off like that, that's not likely to happen.

They are not focused much on anything but publishing games and mostly Like a Dragon and Sonic, perhaps we'll see some more interesting experiments this decade but by in large, they're just big enough to not fail at being a major publisher. I mean if you could narrowly escape certain death in 01 to only release 2 of the worst rated sonic games half a decade later and still be around, you'd think major flops would just be blips in your radar!
