Re: Arcade Racing Legends Review! First footage of final version.
I'd been thinking of buying this one for a while now, but was put off by the price. It certainly looks technically impressive but from what people have said on this thread, I'd feel let down by the replayability if it can be completed so quickly and easily. A real shame they couldn't have put in a few fine tuned difficulty settings.
Also, thanks to those of you being honest. Reviews of indie games from DC YouTubers and the like, seem to always be positive no matter how bad the game in question is. Kind of destroys the purpose of doing a review, but it is what it is I guess.
Also, why don't they offer a download option? I would have happily thrown them $15-20 for a digital version of the game to chuck on my GDEmu (I don't even have a DC with a disk drive hooked up in my setup anymore) but €45 euros plus import fees puts me off.

My opinion is the game needed a bit polish and customize on cars. An online leaderboards will be kind of cool to give players more replay the game. If ever exist new racing game from JoshProd i wish to follow style of Drive Club (arcade/sim).

Interesting development, I will probably buy it soon.
Still it looks a bit rough, the 3d engine seems really versatile but most circuits and car designs look extremely dated and limited. It's just probably a matter of art design.

And once again broken promises with a Kickstarter campaign. Why is it so hard for for Kickstarter creators to keep their word and/or communicate clearly when they can't or change something?
The offered "Dreamcast Physical Version European + CD Original Soundtrack Limited Edition of 500, certified and numbered (€54 + additional shipping)" did not get made (and they did not communicate about it). In all their wisdom they did create a limited edition for their webshop "Arcade Racing Legends – Road Trip Edition – Dreamcast [PAL]" limited to 1000 copies, priced €49,- which is the only version that also includes the OST.
Guess which version I backed? The limited, and what did I get send home? The regular version and no OST (priced €39,- on their shop).
For clarity and transparency, of course I have contacted JoshProd/Pixelheart about this. As a compensation they have offered me a copy of the game for switch or select a US/JP-style game from the shop. For some strange reason they don't offer me the Road Trip edition which comes the closest to what I actually backed......

To be honest after many disappointment with Kickstarter campaigns i didn’t support it, I was pretty sure it will be released to the public at the same price, or even cheaper, so I guess I was right... sorry for you wombat.

Wombat query it. I backed the limited edition and got the road trip edition. They've also sent me an email about the issues, covid is the reason, I asked for Rocketron.Wombat wrote:And once again broken promises with a Kickstarter campaign. I've aired my opinions on the game, good but too easy and could have been a lot more.
Having issues with FX Unit Treasure Box I ordered way back, was it 2016? Got the game but not the rest.

For fx unit, i managed to get the treasure box after exchanging some emails but not the art book, while the guy told me it is still not abandoned but I felt like begging every time I sent an email, I’ve almost given up the idea that this book will ever exist one day.

Happy to hear you did get an edition with OST + compensation. That being said, while the team did sent out updates in regards to the delay(s), they never contacted me (nor make any updates on the update page at Kickstarter) to inform about the fact that the limited to 500 copies edition was not going to be made. I highly doubt covid had any influence for the team to decide to drop the 500 limited and go for a 1000 limited edition instead.qupe75 wrote:Wombat query it.
