Well yeah, Volgarr, Ghost Blade & the Orion games are rereleases of games that were either written for the dc from scratch or already optimized by their original dev team. Can’t give JP credit for any of those games, all they do is have the existing images pressed & that’s it LOL

I really had high hopes for Ghost Blade, it arrived, 1CC-ed it the first day, only to discover it had no harder difficulty settings…a missed opportunity imho, but I still pop it in every now & then because I like the visual style…

As someone who's never paid much attention to the Dreamcast homebrew game scene until recently, i'm glad I'm not alone in thinking most of the newer stuff is really-low effort. Retro Fighters almost got me with the Arcade Racing Legends physical release, but then I looked up the gameplay.... and I'm NOT paying $50 for that. Seems even worse now that I know it's an iPhone port.

Intrepid Izzy, Xenocider and Xeno Crisis are the best independent releases we have in the last few years. Others haven't hit the mark. Also check out upcoming game Shadow Gangs.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Paprium, if they give it the DC Pier Solar treatment, we might end up with a real gem.
Also hoping Andro Dunos 2 will run properly, it seems to be amazing on the other consoles…

I'm on a wait and see with Paprium. Who knows with Andro Dunos 2? I'm told all the new schmups from joshprod have stuttering problems on real hardware.
