Starting to get somewhere with Cut Away. I asked the former VP of Conspiracy Entertainment about Classified Games and if it was related to Conspiracy Entertainment:
Yes, it was a joint venture company with Electro Source, that we hoped to develop into our publishing arm. But it was disbanded within a year. This project sounds as if it was planned after our split, I'll ask around and if I find someone how knows more, I'll give you a ping.
Will update if I learn more. :)

Thats pretty cool. Thanks , hopefully more turns up. Just knowing what the concept was would be great , that poster they released with no details always intrigued me.

Btw you should look into jump runner, the devs dont seem hard to find. That one is interesting, eventually was turned into halcyon sun on pc. If you look into kujo entertainment, simis , glass ghost and not sure but even bright entertainment it seems to be mostly the same star. Heres some test about jump runner from a pc mag
Pure's own PlayStation and N64 action
game Rat Attack, Pure Tennis, a cartoon-
style sports sim and, most notably of all.
Halcyon Sun, the impressive-looking
3D space sim previously known as
Jump Runner. Also in the works is
a persistent online world (in the
same manner as Ultima Online or
EverQuest - although Pure refused to
go into detail about this).
HALCYON SUN

Developer Glass Ghost

Available Engine code (10Mb) available early summer,
with new missions and story arcs (2Mb) available
every two weeks.

The game previously known as Jump Runner and
talked about back in PCZm% Halcyon Sun has
blossomed into a promising space combat sim, which
combines a rich story, fast action and fancy graphics.
Freer than FneSpaceeoMi Just as spacey.

We know Sega Swirl 2 existed, it would be nice if we could get a dump of that someday. Can't remember if it was a dreamcast version or only pc though.

@cloofoofoo Yes, I've already been talking with someone about Jump Runner. I was still trying to get confirmation if a Dreamcast build existed which is why I hadn't posted about it yet. Just heard back though and I can confirm the game was running on Dreamcast dev kits. Also a very interesting fact about the game is that it started out as an unnamed space game for Bethesda. :)
The original game was an unnamed space game commissioned by Bethesda for Dreamcast, they cancelled very early in production (a without cause cancellation - I can not remember what their reasons were). We continued to develop the game ad Jump Runner and contined talking to publishers - it ended up becoming the episodic free to download game Halcyon Sun, published by freeloader.com; (for PC). The label Glass Ghost was dropped and it published as a Kuju game

I would say the project was closer to 25% complete when it was cancelled. Initial development with Bethesda as publisher was PC / Dreamcast with equal emphasis on both. Online was a key focus, including console- the same team went on the develop Firewarrior : Warhammer 40k was PS2 led with strong online multilayer. They also developed the online component of Call of Duty on PS2.

There were certainly builds running on Dreamcast developer kits - but I suspect that any archives would be very hard to find.

It was exclusive to the GameTap service on PC. I'll ask Scott Hawkins about a possible release but the rights are still with Sega I'm sure he might be hesitant. I know he sent it to someone on YouTube to make a video but it was never publicly released.

So here's some info on something that's not really a cancelled game but more of a cancelled mode. For those of you who don't know, KISS Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child originally had an online mode which was shown off at E3 2000. This mode was removed from the final game at Sega's request, likely for quality assurance reasons. They actually almost rejected the game altogether as they weren't happy with how the game turned out. Well anyway, I reached out to one of the devs and asked if a build with online play might still exist. Sadly, he thinks this is very unlikely. Here's what he said:
One morning at the end of 2002 the owner of Tremor shut down the game studio out of nowhere while stealing the payroll for all employees for the previous couple of weeks of work. We were all locked out of the building that day. This move also cancelled the game called The Unseen we were developing for the original Xbox at the time. Microsoft being the publisher were very surprised by all this too - they were the ones providing the payroll money. None of my colleagues know what happened to all the stuff from the office. We were never allowed access and the building just got cleaned out eventually - if I have to guess all that went to trash :(
Pretty sad story. :( I suppose if the dev kits weren't trashed, there may still be hope but doesn't look too good.

I think I tried to contact some of the Galleon devs a while back but never heard back. I'll have to try again.

Spoke with one of the founders of Confounding Factor who confirmed Galleon was running on Dreamcast and close to beta stage. :)
Originally Galleon was a Dreamcast game and it did run on Dreamcast. But because of the extended development we had to switch to the later generation of consoles by the time we came out.

I suppose you couldn't call it a beta when we had to switch. We were somewhat close but not beta. The switch cost is almost a year though. Full graphics upgrades to switch up to the next gen. From 300 polys to 500!! Or whatever.
