Lee, thank you for joining, I am glad you joined us here at DC-Talk. Speaking for the DC-Talk community, thank you for the support on the Dreamcast PSO, we all really appreciate the work you have done as well as the rest of the Schthack team and BlutenLeise's team.

BlutenLeise, My question was an honest one that I felt needed to be answered because I could not compare the exe's to see what was done. I respect all people who can keep the Dreamcast alive and online.

Kireek, I do not want to make the flaming a trend at DC-Talk, this is the only reason why I posted what I did. I do not know why this has turned into a competition or "race" if you will, but if you were on the outside like most of us are, this is what most of us see - a battle with no visible reason. I just know what I've been reading at Schthack's forum seems like you have an issue with him, not the other way - it's just how it reads. I may be wrong and will ease off that part of future topics being we need to get along and not start an international war.

On another note, I realize that I too have something against Nikon, thus I can't resist flaming him. My logic is that this very topic at DC-Talk would have been removed and the users here would all be banned because he does not believe in actually promoting the Dreamcast online despite running the "Onlineconsoles" site. This is why I was banned, I felt he did not want to actually help others log into Schthack's server and he removed every post I put up to spread the word that they can still play PSO online. He also shunned my only project, which was to get UT up and running. His comment was that he tried and nobody would be able to get it up and running if he couldn't (oh, the arrogance).

Thank you all for your efforts once again.

I don't like ives, that everyone knows.

What i'm trying to say is that the topic were originaly ives was making a pal pso turned into a topic were 2 PAL games are avaiable, not sure if it's a race since some ppl started this project before ives made the post.
The only thing i don't know is what ives version offer that cannot be offered by BlutenLeise's version.
that still puzzles my mind.

Yeah it is kinda weird how OnlineConsoles doesnt do very much to support the dreamcast online scene, DC-talk is basically taking over slowly

Anyway I hope you'll like the 2de version better, and don't tell Shthack's ripped it first, we had a working copy since october 25th with autoconnect to schthack servers and pal60fix.
Pal v2 has always worked in 2 refresh rates 50 and 60 hz switch screen > what did you exactly fix that was never broken?
I can't tell for sure, as I didn't made the cracking on these binaries myself, but I think it disable the selection screen for NTSC consoles. Don't quote me on that. All I know if that MAG'94 sent me some bytes to change in the BINs to add a PAL60 Fix. Since he know his stuff a lot, I won't argue with him about it, thus the words he chose might not be the best one to describe the fix, he's not speaking english perfectly, the main idea should be there though.

@Bob Dodds:
You don't have to apologize or something, your question was 100% legit and I answered the best could. I dunno if it sounded rude, but if it did, it was really not on purpose, maybe 'cause i was tired of not sleeping.

Nah there was no fix, none at all in fact, I checked the disc files, the 50/60 switch is actually auto disabled and selected based on the region model of the dreamcast you have. Only patch done was hack4 on 1st_read.bin, if i remeber correctly, well and obviously the main exe replacment and the support file update.

There was acutally a so-called PAL60 Fix done on "2_DP.BIN" "MAIGO.BIN" and "SG_DPLDR.BIN" a simple 4 bytes change that MAG'94 labelled as a Pal60 fix maybe it's not "necessary" but still it was made.

dword fix, and it isn't really a 60 hz fix >_>, although it is necessary to load an unscrambled binary If I remember correctly, i'm really tired atm, anyway it's trivial.

Well it ain,t the only fix that has been made, but we shouldn't get too technical here.

To help you understand the dp_address.jpn I can tell you it's scrambled according to washi.sea , it might help you, if you figure it out, don't forget to give some credits to MAG'94 about hacking that out first.
