My first console was the Mega Drive, so I remember that fondly. I played a lot of Sonic...
I never had a DC at home growing up, but a family member did, at home I had a PS2 and definitely spent more time on it - so I guess that has to be my favourite non-Sega console.

The NEC PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16. It's like the missing link between the SMS and Genesis. It has a very goofy design language, especially in the U.S., its sound chip is wonderful, and it is the peak of 8-bit-style games.

PC-Engine was a beast. I only had access to one a few years ago and is an amazing experience to play a mixed 8 and 16bit console.
