If you're desperate for GTA III pickup a cheap PS2 and memory card with FreeMcBoot. I use the network method to boot ISOs via OPL, it works great. Also, Sega released a tonne of games for PS2, so coupled with a modded Dreamcast you'll be in Sega heaven

Not going to happen but I think of all the games on DC Crazy Taxi if the source code dropped would open up the potential for a sand box environment for modding on DC. Next time you boot it up take a 10 minute sourjon around the city. Its got tons of cars, scale, geometry and interactive, albeit in a very linear way, NPC's. Yes it's an incredibly simple game at its core much simpler than GTA3 but it if the source code leaked it would provide the fundamental building blocks to create a sandbox / open world style city.

And a stack load of cash to pay the legal fees even if it's clean room nothing stops them from suing you over and over anyways..DarkVampire295 wrote:It can be ported but I would want to make sure I knew a good bail bondsman on standby
It's the biggest cash cow in gaming if you think they let you do it in any way shape or form with out massive amount of trouble your one of mr beans childern.

Re: Is it possible to port GTA 3 to the Dreamcast?
Operating system Nintendo 3DS system software
CPU Dual-core ARM11 MPCore @ 268 MHz Single-core ARM9
Memory 128 MB FCRAM
Graphics DMP PICA200 @ 133 MHz 6 MB VRAM (Fujitsu MB82M8080-07L FC-RAM)
So seems the system is much more powerful than the Dreamcast's single core 200mhz processor. But maybe with the 2x memory mod and a 20% overclock to get it to a stable 240mhz it could be a lot easier. I mean they did get GTA 3 running on the PS2 which had an almost 300mhz processor and 32mb ram. But it had the benefit of a team of hundreds working on it with official SDK tools. Not going to be as easy to port it over with KOS.
Anyways, it is cool they got it running so well on the 3DS.
