Oh wow, good on you for suggesting and their stance makes zero sense to me. Especially with the addition of SD card and essentially infinite storage, why limit automation and force everyone to select the virtual VMU manually?

It’s a relatively lightweight feature to add, but in my eyes the lack of it makes VM2 quite unappealing. Doesn’t feel very next-gen, lol. I think it’s fair to say it’s an expectation these days since this is being done for other consoles too.

Think for a moment that the project is created by only one person. As for the Next Gen VMU, what do you want to see next? color lcd? new cpu hardware? play mp3/flac music? More stuff means money and time and no one want to pay for 200 €/$ for vmu.If everybody want an official NexGen VMU must be made from a big company at least who don’t give a shit for a official dead console. People always must think and appreciate when comes this projects from fans.

Are you serious now? People asked only one simple function, the addition of which takes 10-15 minutes.

Yeah I don't see a problem with it if the source code is available maybe he can get some help with programming something for it. Now from using his Dreamcon I could see some issues since every-time a "new" VMU is detected it needs to repair with the dreamcast.
But at the end of the day the user would need to know to unplug find the VMU that game save is on plug in sync then load game which is kinda a pita. But with the amount of VMU's you can store on a micro SD card maybe you could do something that says each game gets its own VMU only game I could see issues with that is PSO.

I received a prototype unit of the VM2 today, pretty close to production version (but still not 1:1).

I figured I'd share this thread with you all :)

Do you know @Chris dear @ateam ? I'm jealous about your benefit
Thanks for sharing those photos. You mean the final product will be bigger ?
I noticed the screen of the VM2 is not totally the size than the controller hole.

We have a friendly relationship, yes.

Regarding the screen size, what you see there is the final dimensions. It may take a little getting used to, but in my opinion it's not a problem. The screen looks fantastic.
