I thought "Project Reality" was charming. The "Big C" sounds like some new sandwich from Subways.


Back to Sega-Sammy-as a publicly traded company, they have a duty to let shareholders know if it is their plan to embark on something as big as a console launch. 2011 is coming to a close, and if there is still nothing concrete by 2012, I doubt Sega will ever release another home video game console.

And I agree with you mostly. But that doesn't mean in say, I guess the year 2015, that there won't be a new Sega console, or Confirmation of one just because there wasn't anything officially announced from Sega in those 2 years (2011-2012).
At least if Sega survives that long...

I honestly wish Sega would just go and announce that they won't be, or are working on a console. All these rumors since 2009 have been getting annoying.

And we haven't heard anything about kidspad. I want to see if it really IS something of Big importance, or just a kids toy based on Leapfrog.

I'm tired of hear-say and rumors also. Just get on with it and let us live in peace console or no console. If Kidspad is for children, I just hope Sega remembers how "great" Pico did.

Never really fancied Shenmue. Neither did Japan where sales tapered off after half million units in the first week from pre-orders. Japan loved Seaman for some reason though so go figure. If there was Shenmue 3 I want more action and less life simulating. More fighting and no menial labor jobs. It could be Sega's answer to GTA but with a stronger storyline and much better fights. And I don't want to hear about that girl's dumb "kittie" ever again. That young lady should be in college by now! It should also allow for an online multi-player universe like Warcraft. That would be the ideal Shenmue for 201?.

The three most important aspects of Shenmue are the story, the artwork/look of the game and the fighting mechanic. The story needs to be interesting, exciting and coherent. The developers could then pretty much cram the rest of game full of new gameplay ideas not seen in the series before. Surely though it must retain the spirit of the original games so I'd draw the line at introducing guns into the equation-that would be a definite no-no.

I liked the life-simulating parts including the 'kittie' ! lol Having a Sega Saturn in 1986 always confused me though.

According to all of the research I've conducted & according to SegaNews' sources, KIDS PAD is a game tablet that SEGA will pass off as a family friendly iPad and is projected to begin testmarketing this holiday season. The reason why no leaks or info has been released can be blamed on the March 11 Tsunami which has slowed down all Trademark processing at Toyko's trademark office. Back on Topic, Shenmue is a flagship title & therefore should be for a Flagship SEGA console.

Interesting. If true that would mean that Sega would still be supporting the PS3 with boxed products on BD-Roms. I doubt that they would release such a game as a download only title. Imagine downloading that!

I'm afraid you & the article are taking SEGA's statement out context. They aren't saying that Shemume III is in development for PS3, they are saying that Shenmue for Dreamcast is getting an HD revamp on PSN. Shenmue 3 on PS3 is just wishful thinking. If it were being developed it certainly wouldn't cost no $70 million today. It would be twice that amount.

Although, SEGA is aknowledging that there is a concept for Shenmue III they have NOT specified if its in development noir have they said it will be released for PS3.
