I was looking into some dreamcast docs and found some interesting info.

A controller can have multiple rumble motors and can even specicy it's position on the controller.
Would be interesting to see if any game would use that info and send "dual shock" style commands.

And looks like controllers could have motors on specific axis. I believe it was for forcefeedback devices.
I remember reading about this awhile ago. Sega definitely laid down some groundwork for an upgraded controller in the future i.e. 2nd analog port for 2nd stick, built-in rumble motors, etc.

And what's the "new, advanced" thing about today's controllers. Hall-effect sticks & triggers!

I'll tell you more, the chip in the original controller has an input for the C, Z buttons and for the second stick, they are just not used, these inputs are connected to ground.

for fun, is there anyway you can add support for the usb dreamcast adapters so you can use the save feature and still use an official controller lol
i have a couple of the raphnet ones i could test if you needed.

I was wondering about this one for the same reasons.
This one is more affordable to me and in stock.

I think it is wrong to connect the DC controller through a bunch of adapters, especially since this makes it impossible to use the vibropack

still it would be a nice option to have if all you want to do is use the official controller and save to usb

VMU Screen emulation on RP2040 Pico board!
Heads up - I needed to have the USB Memory Stick installed for the OLED to be recognized. The display is upside-down, which I like.
