@reticon: oh yes, if you guys planning it on being as big a game (by that I mean 3d, rpg, possibly online, etc...), I insist on it having at least one decent downloadable vmu game

Agreed

And, RETICON, It seems you really have gotten games down to a science. will you be making ports of your game to other systems? Only if it sells well?

If the game sells well on its release, it will be ported to PC. The graphics engine will be compatible with the intel GMA chipsets and lightweight graphics cards. Since many people cannot afford high end desktops or laptops, I'll be aiming for the lowest bar so that we can adhere to a larger audience. These similar tactics appear with Blizzard's work, they do not go for the flashiest game, they tone the graphics down and because of this, the games will yield to a larger audience.

It would be nice to do cross platform online capability, but I do not see a future with that due to the PC's ability of expansion and the Dreamcast is limited in that regard, so patches and add ons will be difficult.

That problem (updates) could be solved by not releasing your game on physical media. Look at it this way; the day you release it, it is going to be available for download for free all over the internet.

Instead, offer the option of a downloadable iso you buy then burn yourself. Maybe make a nice limited edition packaging for those who really want to own a physical copy, and charge twice as much as the digital version. They would get access to the updates as well, just have to play a copy that wasn't their pretty printed disk.

This way you could then just update the ISO, people could burn a new copy, and then continue playing with PC users. Not the best option, but hey it would solve the problem.

I know I would love to be able to send you guys the money directly, and not have to buy it through an online retailer that eats into your profits, as well as the cost of printing the physical media. I'd feel better about buying it if 100% of the price was going towards those who worked to make it.

me too, I'm proud to say that I don't own a single copied dc game (apart from a backup of blus stinger, coz me original game is scratched, but thats different in so many ways, coz I own the original)

how bout hosting the entire game on a server & simply releasing a disk you use to login (not sure if this is possible at all)? this way you can update and mod it all you want

Hello folks!

We have an update for you!

So the website is now finished but not up, we have to now fill it with content, downloadable goodies, pictures etc. and get the Forums up and running.

In other news:
We have been having conferences (as well as online) discussing the last few plot holes of the story and implement a TOP SECRET system that has never been done before in gaming! We can't say much about it though.

Character and indiginous monster designs are coming in as well, which will soon be modeled.

As for the programming aspect. I've been testing out some algorithms and soon will implement a collision system to test out. A lot of it is still in testing form, such as polygon counting, texturing and the collision detection I just mentioned.

So everything is looking up! There are going to be a TON of updates this winter, so be ready!

First off, why have I never heard of this, how could I miss something this grand of scale (my fault for not checking this part of the forum more oft)? Second, why is this not mirrored at DCisozone and other news sites?

This is just too good to be true. I would definitely pay for some modern professional 3d open world RPG with possible online MP!

Keep the updates coming and I hope to purchase this awesome game when its released!

I hope I never see it on DCisoZone or any other site. This is a new game that the creator(s) need to be compensated being it is coming from his own pocket. This is not the same as the big corporate machine (SEGA and other software game companies) because they are NOT making new games nor distributing them (unlike Redspotgamers, who are supporting the Dreamcast with new games).

The games you find on DCisoZone are not in production and are not available through Game Crazy, Game Spot, EB Electronics, local used game stores or even Play-Asia/The Goat Store.

If this comes to the Dreamcast, it's one game we should all find $$$ for just to support what could be the finest post-DC game/homebrew ever released. Personally, I am sick of the horizontal scrolling shooters and thus I refuse to buy any other future releases in this category. This (Tahi) is great for the Dreamcast!
