Shenmue 3? Will it happen?

I'm afraid you & the article are taking SEGA's statement out context. They aren't saying that Shemume III is in development for PS3, they are saying that Shenmue for Dreamcast is getting an HD revamp on PSN. Shenmue 3 on PS3 is just wishful thinking. If it were being developed it certainly wouldn't cost no $70 million today. It would be twice that amount.

Although, SEGA is aknowledging that there is a concept for Shenmue III they have NOT specified if its in development noir have they said it will be released for PS3.

Well, it is a rumor. It's not really saying anything specific. Although I have always thought that the best way to release a Shenmue III would be to release HD remakes of the first two games first to build interest in a third installment then bring out Shenmue III.

@pcwzrd13. You're right a rumor is just a rumor. We'll see how far this goes. If this report does get leaked out to the gaming press, SEGA will be very pissed and will order the articles deleted. For now, I have serious doubts about this rumor. Because from a SEGA standpoint, they'd rather develop Shenmue III on thier own platform in order to save money and budget then waste $140 million on a requested title they know WON'T sell.

Chapter 1 = Shenmue

Chapter 2 = Boat to Hong Kong (between Shenmue and Shenmue II)

Chapters 3 to 5 = Shenmue II

Can we get a series re-release? I never got to play shenmue 2 so if shenmue 3 releases I wont know whats going on...I'm pretty sure there's a LOT of other shenmue fans who didnt either and if I don't know whats goin on I won't buy it...
