I played a bunch of games for the Dreamcast's anniversary last week: Cannon Spike, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure 2, Dynamite Cop (first time and beat it, good stuff). I wish any version of Hydro Thunder worked with the vga/HDMI out. Can the DC HDMI trick the "New, Hot" version into working?
There is now a fix to this thanks to a few members here who have been applying VGA patches to a handful of the games that weren't compatible! The second version of Hydro Thunder has always worked with VGA, but would not output via the HDMI converters (Kaico, Hyperkin, etc.). That's resolved now, so you can apply the patch to the game and enjoy it with any output now. More info in this thread:

I can't use the original disc though. I couldn't get the second version working when I had my DC hooked up to a VGA box before either, and that was outputting through the OSSC.

I'm currently playing Sonic Adventure and every now again bit of ChuChu Rockets and Crazy Taxi. I have only played the Director Cut version briefly on PC and heard that it a bad port so I tried Dreamcast version.

So on a whim I decided to try switching the DCHDMI to cable detect, and I was able to play 'Hydro Thunder' in all its interlaced glory. I might get the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 comp for Xbox again instead.

Pulled out my VA1 to play WWF Attitude. I had the Sony PlayStation version growing up, but heard the Dreamcast release was supposedly a smidge better.
