I know English isn't there first language, but that's a poor excuse. And the more reviews come in, it does seem a little rushed. They probably wanted it out before the holidays.qupe75 wrote:JoshProd seem to think it's normal no sound for player 2. The also say, "player 2 can win it's just the bad sentence."
So that fact player 2 crosses the line and then has to wait for player 1 to finish and then player 1 wins is a bad sentence? Do me a favour.
They knew they left the vibration pack option in the options menu even though vibration packs don't work.
I get the impression they just wanted this out of the way and rushed it at the end.

Oh dear, that is not good at all. There was a toggle setting that allowed you to change the strength of the feedback in one of the builds, I'm assuming all reference to it in game has been removed?qupe75 wrote:Unfortunately not in the build I received in my road trip edition and my packs are working as I tested them straight after. Also JoshProd said earlier they know it doesn't work.....Dreamcastnews wrote:The vibration was working in the test build guys?
I can only say sorry for the multiplayer bug, I was just testing the single player side of things. I think this was probably too large in ambition, the developers were working on it until going gold but it felt like it still needed at least another 6 months to iron out what was there from the near final build I had, I did express concerns with certain aspects of the game which for whatever reasons largely went unchanged.
Props to all involved for the scale of the project though, I just can't understand how one of the other beta testers wasn't tasked with trying the multiplayer mode....

No they've left it in. But it doesn't work. I feel they've rush the final parts of it to possibly please impatient backers or so they can move on to other projects.Dreamcastnews wrote: Oh dear, that is not good at all. That is so odd, I wonder what happened for it to now not be working...
But yes, I think the costs were also a factor, I think things were spiralling (hur hur,..) out of control with the various delays costing more and more. I would certainly think that backer jitters played a part too.

Re: Arcade Racing Legends Review! First footage of final version.
Looking at the numbers of the Kickstarter campaign, I highly doubt the voice of its backers had any influence on getting the product rushed.
This is speculation seeing its difficult to proof of course, but I think the Kickstarter was not legitimately successful. I believe that the higher tier options have been orchestrated, as in, they new company 'x' and 'y' would go for this in order to make the campaign successful and hoping to get extra media attention, as where if the product only got announced as a pre-order on their own website it would go pretty much unseen.
Lets look at the numbers;
------
- Pledge €3,000 or more VIP CAR Branding - the ultimate. (2 cps)
16 backers
- Pledge €699 or more TRACK BRANDING - Elevated Neon Sign (2 cps)
1 backer
- Pledge €499 or more TRACK BRANDING - Side Road Banner (2 cps)
1 backer
------
Pledge €189 or more ARCADE RACING LEGENDS - Deluxe Edition (2 cps)
10 backers
Pledge €89 or more ARCADE RACING LEGEND US/JAP + CD OST
9 backers
Pledge €89 or more ARCADE RACING LEGEND Europe + CD OST
16 backers
Pledge €54 or more ARCADE RACING LEGEND US/JAP + CD OST
22 backers
Pledge €54 or more ARCADE RACING LEGEND Europe + CD OST
25 backers
Pledge €39 or more ARCADE RACING LEGENDS - Dreamcast US/JAP
98 backers
Pledge €39 or more ARCADE RACING LEGENDS - DREAMCAST PAL
101 backers
Adding these up:
PAL regular: 101 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 16 = 129 copies
PAL limited: 25 + 16 = 21 copies
US/JPN regular: 98 + 10 + 1 + 1 + 16 = 126 copies
US/JPN limited: 22 + 9 = 31 copies
= total of 307 copies of the game spread over 299 customers (im not counting the backers of the non game lower perks)
Looking at their webshop, there are 592 copies left of the regular PAL edition (3000 made) means they sold 2279 copies outside of the campaign! And this is not even counting the sales number of the US/JPN release as/well as the limited editions.
I definitly spend to much time on going through all of this though haha

So probably so they can move on to something else and maybe the ports for the more viable systems for them?Wombat wrote:Looking at the numbers of the Kickstarter campaign, I highly doubt the voice of its backers had any influence on getting the product rushed.

I think once they sent it to the master thats it.. the need to send an update fix to all backers in cdi format.. not hard to get rumble working .. if it's this bad the might of reach out to some us coders to fix things like this..

They did just like Ubisoft does for our famous Xbox and PlayStation consoles, they rush to release a game..and then they start to work on fixes and you end up with a clean release after 2 months and some 3go to download all the fixes and finally get a stable game but on Dreamcast, no patch download option guys
