GDEMU tips:
Leave the VCDs in position right after the SEGAKARA, so that when you press the physical button on the GDEMU you will swap the disk to the VCD properly. Another important tip is to make sure that your GDEMU.ini file in the root of the card has this configuration:
Overcome your shyness and give your Dreamcast Karaoke HKT-4301 a chance to put these atoms to work and shine!
How do I create my own custom VCD?
1- Download your chosen Karaoke mp4 videos from YouTube, there are many options.
2- Create a Video CD in Nero Express 7. Here you can burn directly to the disc. OR
3- For GDEMU, burn image instead of disc, mount the .NRG image on a virtual disc and transform it into a CDI using DiscJuggler (Raw option - 360000)

Are there any tricks in making a VGA compatible AV cable for this? My hope is to have a cable that works with the Sega VGA box in both VGA and S-video modes (for the few VGA incompatible games). Just pin 1 to 1, pin 2 to 2, for all 16 pins? Nothing crossed over anywhere? I assume that any grounded or open pins for signal type would be handled on the VGA box itself, yes?

I have a handmade cable that make SEGAKARA VGA Compatible. You just need all pins working. viewtopic.php?p=168656#p168656

Hello, Dreamcast-talk world!
When I first looked at the Segakara disk (HKT-4301), and after seeing Segakara for PC, I was under the impression that the Segakara disk had thousands (15.751) of songs in MIDI format. Did anyone managed to confirm this and enable those songs to be played?
I also believe that the karaoke server could be reverse engineered to provide new songs without many changes in the disk (and without requiring VCDs), but that could obviously be a lot more work, yet also more interesting from the perspective of preserving or restoring some of the original functionality and history of the product.

.
> VCD ABERTURAS ANIMES E OUTROS
.
> VCD ESPECIAL DRAGON BALL
.
This was and is proudly a collaborative project, with contributions from many people. This is very good.
