I got my DreamPi Setup with WiFi, logged into the server with the bots running on it but was pinging it at 350-400ms... I know its dial up, but is that normal? Trying to shoot the bot was a hell of a challenge with all the rubber banding around. (In fact, it seamed to pause ever 1 second... you could see it on the data graph and animations like ammo icons would stop and go... Just a ping issue or a wacky USB modem i wonder...)

Is Fragin Friday a BBA only experience? (if so, I'll have one & PW3.0 for next weeks time http://www.ebay.com/itm/191954383544)

If so, i wish DreamPi allowed you to use the ethernet port on the unit as a wireless bridge. that way it be BBA to Pi, and Pi via WiFi. Nice and clean. Otherwise its time to break out the 30ft cable...

I bought my BBA off the same guy.. mine was in the north american box..

Well that depends what server you are in, some are very far away or their host isn't too good. But yes the best you are going to get with Dialup is about 150-200 ping on a good server, which is still playable , but the other servers where you get 400+ ping is a bit worse obviously.
And WIFI Sucks and is only going to Add more time onto your ping and lag and always interference which might be your extra bit of lag there.
That server also might need a refresh most people just leave the server up and running for months straight. I refresh my server at least once a week for fragging fridays =)
And bots are a pain in the ass to beat on some servers with 'mods'

Also I tried to explain how the snaps in this game work and how the bandwidth of dialup effects your snaps, the more thats going on the more data in the snaps that send about 20 frames per second this game is almost like live streaming everything, so also when your framerate drops around 20's fps your snaps will drop and ping will get higher, but its all relative.
Quake 3 is really the only game that could use BBA to its advantage , and unreal tournament if it ever returns online =)
