Played the prototype using the same settings above/below. Applying the Batch GDI Optimisator helps too if you using the SD Card Adaptor.

Memory 0X8COOO100, DMA On, Sync 16, Loader 12.

Everything Is Bogus! Fully playable alittle glitchy on the main menu. Would all like the clean files to mess around with the hex editor.

If only for the original beta Naomi levels one day from the very first trailer...certainly looking forwards to the next one in the new week!

If anyone missed this the first time round here is the 2021 update GDI again to Mr Green Ranger Final. This features Spike Tengu for Story Mode among other smalls changes not on the CDI update side above. I may do a 2022 update if anything can be added on from these findings. Unless someone else does a new mod altogether with more better new stuff!

thanks dirge for the gdi version

Does anyone have any and all old mod tools for the Dreamcast DOA2? All the links I follow are dead and I'd like to explore this leftover character some more.

Here are all her files unmodified so you don't have to mess with an entire iso: https://mega.nz/file/RXxGXCDS#rZKgbiKpg ... utd_RGTY6U
Share away the entire ISO files please and what you found out! I only use HxD Hex Editor and adx encoder don't have that fancy 3d model viewer nor photoshop with the plugins needed to remake costumes.

I missed saving key information about removing the stages walls rather know how to make new/edit levels. How to photoshop costumes way back on the old dcforums. No Wayback Machine can help with that lost capsule!

The two builds in bold (2000.01.27 and 2000.2.16) are the ones that include files for INDIA (some of her files in the 2.16 are slightly different - not sure if they continued to work on her or if the game just shuffled some data around). Ironically, the demo disk that came with a magazine has the oldest known Dreamcast build and I'm including it for reference since it may be of use to someone. (I thought I saw debug functions in the demo disk build not present in the betas)

Build Date 2000.01.07 Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine Vol. 5 v1.010 (2000)(Sega)(US)[!][May 2000].zip Source: ODCM
Build Date 2000.01.27 :!: Dead or Alive 2 (Jan 27, 2000 prototype).7z Source: https://hiddenpalace.org/Dead_or_Alive_ ... prototype)
Build Date 2000.02.16 :!: dead-or-alive-2-v-0.950-2000.02.17.-7z Source: https://en.sega-dreamcast-info-games-pr ... -prototype
Build Date 2000.03.06 US FINAL
Build Date 2000.06.25 EU FINAL
Build Date 2000.08.29 JP FINAL

Changing the character select ID is a simple task in a hex editor, but there's a lock on 0B and 0F and won't let you confirm the selection. Not sure how to get around it at the moment.

They say that Dead or Alive 2 had alot off growing pains that Team Ninja got pinched out at the wrong peak time. Is the PS2 to blame for the holdback on why the original first builds couldn't get done? Frist Naomi Build is just so special more so then any the later numbered titles. Soul Calibur was packing with mega extras just why did they holdback....Perfect time for any DoA Fans right now on the news front when coming from the DC side.

I'll forward the recent new posts from Free Step Dodge. The second recent new prototype is here. Posts by grap3fruitman, NiGHTS, Derock and dee4doa rounding up everything good here too. Why miss out?

Notes from the 2/17 prototype:

1. It was interesting to see the other stages on the menu/character select screen but it's a huge bug. It can be corrected though. Go to Team Battle and toggle the number of fighters or go to Tag Battle and the screen goes back to The Danger Zone 2.

2. All of the music is final/retail versions and in tact.

3. Press Start is still in beta version

4. Character select portraits are final, except for Bass (IMO should had kept) and Lei-Fang (Portrait is final but she's wearing the white dress).

5. Tina's icon (not portrait) is still beta.

6. Versus and Sparring are not selectable.

7. Options is beta but looks like something from a PlayStation menu. Quick Select cannot be turn off and there's another option for quick stage select which also cannot be change either. Every thing else works.

8. Grammar is finalized.

9. Win Poses after major fight scenes are still shown.

10. Major bug on the scene before Lei-Fang Vs. Helena: Helena stuck when Lei-Fang shows up on the elevator door.

Beta Bayman and Raidou! I wonder if Raidou was going to be flashback or clone fight for Kasumi storyline.

At 3:44 you can watch small preview on the Naomi Build well the whole video is fun. I like the Kasumi alone on the Ocean Night Rock scene too bad that was only on Hard*Core not on the DC Opening! Yeah that whole beta Spiral car park stage just so mindblowing and heartbreaking.

Pull this altogether, I'll be playing that new fresh proto very soon though. I wish too know how to change the background main menu so bored off the Danger Zone 2 taking center stage all the time...hopefully more future DoA 2 mods to come for Dreamcast.

Batch GDI Optimisator won't work on the new February build unlike the January one. I see how the SD Adaptor runs as does crash on without....

I have to voice out that the February GDI build not working at all with Retrodream 2020 compare to the January GDI build which worked fine. Not sure if a new rebuild is possible but like to request for one so can be fully playable on the SD Adaptor not just on the emulators.

Sad Face but not to waste this post. I'll post to ryu highabusa channel his showed us alot off the beta greatly. Real Showing off is the Belly Dancer fighter idol stance/moves only exclusive to the Dreamcast!

Woah Beautiful She Is! Certainly would have played the Belly Dancer throughout the series evolution. Now this reminded me off Helena outfit from DOA 3.....maybe she was planned to be in 3 too. Ended up keeping the outfit and went with Brad Wong instead.

Finally Added To Internet Archive credit will always go to Mr Green Ranger. Small bonus to CDI users incase that mediafire link ever goes away.
