Hello guys,

first of all i'd like to say that dreamcast was my first console and its very special to me and im very fond to it.
Still i had it saved for years like a thropy..

Today i attemped to fix it since the cd wouldn's start spinning. That problem its fixed by moving the pot "screw" slightly to the right.. but now even with the cd properly spinning the lens still dont read cds :/

Any ideias of what may be? will i need to change the lens? and if so which lens i should aquire.

You can try to use this:

to assist you calibrating the pot to the "right" position. Let us if it works for you

If even with this it does not work, then I think you should get a new unit.

I highly recommend that you get a GDROM replacement instead: GDEMU (I have this one, works great but it's very hard to put your hands in an unit) or USB-GDROM (never tried).

OK, I think that the laser is dead.. I tought Ive saw it light it up but now Im not sure.

I would like to keep it all original can I just change the laser instead of the whole drive?

Updating: The laser does work i saw the red light on it. The console does the bip of cd read.

But now instead of giving that anoying sound of error and displaying "insert cd game" does the sound and appears to start the load but it comes back to sega bla bla bla and menu again.
