Hello all, i just registered because i'm at a loss trying to find a spare part to fix a faulty dreamcast i bought off ebay.
I already managed to fix the drive that wouldn't read.

The remaining issue is a part on the back of the motherboard that's been damaged.
Because of this, in the RGB, i only get Blue, a bit of red ..somehow, as the tint is more purple than blue.

I looked up some things, found some help, but now....to dive in and repair it/replace it...i have no idea what part i should be looking for.
Maybe i could wire the lost connections to R and B (pun intended) but the ZD401 looks damaged.

I would be beyond happy if people here, who know these things way better than me, could help me fix this dreamycast.

Another bit of info :

it's for sure something, probably this thing, on the board and not cables or my TV.
My other dreamcast has no issues going through the same cables (dreamcast AV to Scart) and TV (Beovision MX4200).

might check the pins on your av out on the dreamcast also. see if ones messed up.

Will have to get dead motherboard from Dreamcast.

No way of getting some wires from red and green to where they need to go you think andhave it operating safely ?
I fear this broken part might cause issues on my tv ..there's a good reason that part is on there.
What is it ? ZD, zener diode, semi conductor ...something ?

I've seen some mainboards on ebay, €24, but sadly i haven't seen faulty ones or faulty dc's much (without crazy shipping costs).. but might keep an eye on them.

i've seen some that look similar with the five legs but no use if i don't know the specs i need.

I have a spare DC I could give you, but I'm in the USA. Not sure what shipping costs would be involved.
You will need to swap out the controller board in it, the one in its beyond repair. Also power button seems a little sticky. I bought it on ebay to replace my controller board in my DC. It does come with a Modem version A
