Not being able to play PSO on the dreamcast is making me go insane :D . Ok so here is my situation: I have DSL. No phone ports in the house. I can't for the life of me get a PC/DC server up. Have a stock DC modem. Willing to pay for a cheap ISP. Any help here? Payinf for a BBA is out of the question.

Jaseman,

Usually, DSL service allows you to still use dial-up unlike a Cable modem. You can either get a free NetZero or a cheap NetZero account ($10.00 US per month). Some DSL accounts even have a "free" emergency dial-up account if your Broadband temporarily dies. The (phone company) do not monitor this, so you can do that as well but you have to check their website or customer service for this info.

Remember when you call them to "pretend" that your service was not working "a couple of weeks ago" and you would like to know how to use the emergency dial-up. You lost an important "gig" because of this (otherwords, "give it to 'em, they'll breakdown).

I hope this helps...

However I don't see any phone jack in my modem besides the DSL-to-modem port.

No phone ports in the house?! You have to have a phone line going into your DSL modem. Pull that baby out and put it in your Dc. Then listen to the good advice from, dobbs.

...I do have one going into the modem. However: That goes to the ENTIRE houses internet including WiFi. Would a phone cable splitter work?

the company that you get DSL from should have provided a filter for you. the filter plugs into the phone line and splits it. one plug will then be for the phone and the other for the modem. what you need looks line this item i found on ebay. if you don't have one of these then you should get one.
