Why cant DC games be played off a HDD?

Think about it, the Xbox, the PS2, the Wii, and someday maybe the 360/PS3, they can play games off of a HDD. Oh, if someone could make it so the DC could play games off of an HDD, how bad ass would that be? Think it's possible?

you can if you play em off your pc's hd through an emulator

There is work be done to allow this using an SD flash drive.
