Revivals of Online Games Has Been Kinda Slow Lately

I Know this Probably has to do with Covid (Maybe IDK)

But i Remember back between the years of 2015-2018 I Remember Seeing a New Game Come Back Online Every 3-8 Months or so (Sometimes Even Within 2 Weeks like in the Case of Early Dreampipe Servers Such as Planet Ring and Toy Racer)

i Remember this Because PCWizrd/Dreamcastic Would Upload a Video Once those Servers were Put Back Online

These Days I Only See New Games Come Back Online Every Year or Two

The Closest thing we Had to a New Dreamcast Server in 2021 was the Hack TV Patch for Microsoft WebTV Boxes

and this was a Whole Year after Gundam was Put Back Online

I'm Still Waiting for the Servers for Sega Marine Fishing, Daytona USA and Propeller Arena

Don't Mean to Sound Rude At All
but I Miss it

2015-2018 was the most exciting time around here. DreamPI/Online game revivals happening left and right and even old web portals being revived..

Shuouma was working on Bomberman years ago and posted about it on Twitter, but its been quiet since. Looked like he had the lobbies working. Last post was 2 years ago :(

Doom/Quake World were also in dev, and their is proof they work, however Shu has only released the builds to a few select people.

Propeller Arena we can all only dream of getting. Everything about that game was so unfounate. The timing of its cancellation/it was BBA compat/A unique dogfighting game/and supported the DC mic.

PCWizrd or anyone else know if Shu ever made any progress with that one?

I have faith Shu is still working on something, as I'd assume there would be an update saying he's fished or moving on.

Agreed. I greatly appreciate the time he sacrificed to get a great amount of the games that are online for us. I have never asked him, even when he is online playing nor will I ever ask. If he does, he does, but if not, I will enjoy and appreciate what he has done. Too bad no one else has the knowledge and/or the time to do that in our community.

I do love playing PSO online with him on the team, ironically, it is not one of the games he brought back online.

Hopefully some new online games will come from our homebrew developers and the Indie game studios such as Senile Team, NG Dev Team, and Josh Prod.

Think of a new Retail Dreamcast game with a Dreampi add-on included with the game....

The only DC Indie release with online features I've seen is Maqiupai https://web.archive.org/web/20070117140 ... boards.php

He's definitely still working on Bomberman. Just keep in mind these remaining dreamcast games are probably some of the hardest ones he's worked on so far. But also be aware he does have a family to tend to as well :)

On the web side we released rayman 2. We've got some real exciting revivals coming down the pipeline that Jial has been working on. I've started coding on a new online feature for sonic adventure 2 online as well. Plus we have the new dreamarena 3 project too.

Quake World last I heard isn't quite ready for.primetime yet, I'm sure after Bomberman Online he'll revisit QW.
