Best VGA cable?

Hello guys

Lately I decided to get a VGA cable for Dreamcast, to use with an HDMI adapter.
Unfortunately the cable was very poor quality, showing heavy flickering (especially noticeable on text) and various diagonal lines.
Probably it doesn't have any shielding.

It's one of those chinese cable you can get on amazon, that users reviews says were pretty good...

Now before spending more money on other bad cables, and before resorting to the expensive solutions, do you have any suggestions for a cheap VGA cable that actually works and doesn't have video issues?

Thank you very much

So I should try to get another one of these before asking for a refund?

Bearbros Kuro could be nice at a lower price.

Also I read some time sago an old post on this forum, where someone said that you can fix these cables shielding (lack of) with 5 minute soldering, do you know anything about that?

Not sure if it's the same one you bought but I got this one a couple months ago and it's worked perfectly so far. I've also used Tomee and Retrobit ones and both of those work very well. Although the Tomee started outputting some staticy audio recently. That was after years of owning it though.

I'm looking at another one on european amazon with the same stock image as yours, but the brand says Gam3Gear instead of Mcbazel.

While the one I got (that cause image flickering etc.) had the stock image similar to this:

I use this never had any problems use it with my elgato 60hd pro pce e card capture for my youtube channel .. You sure it's plug in all the way something else is not the problem these things are dead simple.. are you plugin it direct to vga monitor and see if it has any problems.. Some modern tv's vga is analog so what ever your plugin it in to might be the problem not the cable..

Try connecting it to other monitors not just one

Looks very much the same as you have..

it's similar to the one I got, same accessories.
So it's really a matter of luck.

a vga-hdmi adapter like this

https://brunei.desertcart.com/products/ ... ojector-tv

I tested it alone by connecting it to the pc monitor, and it doesn't seems to cause issue with flickering, image noise etc. (apart making the image a tiny blurry if you compare to the native hdmi connection).
