I have a friend who uses this one:

https://www.amazon.de/Ethernet-Adapter- ... 07WW3L3QD/

the Kalea version of the same modem is here, but more expensive:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/KALEA-INFORM ... op?ie=UTF8
User ratings show it is Linux compatible.

I already have this suspicion for some time, all these models with two RJ11 ports, apparently, are necessarily hardware modems. As if having both ports wasn't possible if they were software modems.

It still lacks confirmation, but this is the trend, I've seen more than one report of success with these two RJ11 port modems.

I wonder if these parts would work, Conexant RD02-D330 for laptops, Conexant RD01-D850 for desktops. You would still need a line voltage inducer.

Yeah.

The most time its really hard to identify if it a soft or normal modem. Ony if you can see the chip its rasy to see.
In the most specs you cant see it. So damn xD

"Dell Modem rd02 d400 gone"

There are plenty available on Yahoo Japan Auction. I purchased two from there recently.
You can use buyee.jp which allows foreigners to buy things from Yahoo Auctions. All of those
modems have a buy it now price of 1300 Yen which is about 10 bucks.

Here is a link to the buyer I got mine from. He has 9 available at the moment. Shipping is also fast and cheap.

Here is a link to the shipping costs. They have a warehouse and will hold goods purchased for 30 days for free. Its better to buy multiple items and bulk ship them together.
I live in Japan but I still use Buyee, so the shipping cost for me is very small. I do know alot of people in the U.S. use Buyee, so the cost of shipping cant be that bad.
