I managed to obtain/hack all 4 x VMU cheat files for this game.

The legitimate way to obtain these files is to create a 'VMU character' via the Training menu and then play the Zombie Doubt/Zombie Fishing VMU mini-games over a long period of time (weeks/months). If you are lucky during that time, you will receive a 'present' at the end of a game (after your score is displayed). After receiving this present and rebooting Zombie Revenge, the game will read the VMU and create a 'VMU Present File' containing the relevant cheat.
You need to keep feeding your VMU character by playing through the 'Original' mode and picking up food items. If you do not feed your character, they will eventually run out of energy completely. However that 'no energy' character can then be converted into a separate VMU file and used in the game's Fighting mode (1 on 1 character battles). If you want to keep playing the VMU mini games, you will need to raise another character.
The big problem is the length of time it takes to unlock these cheats and the random nature of being awarded a present. You also cannot access the VMU mini-games between the hours of midnight - 0800 as your character will be 'sleeping'. The developers realised not all players were happy to play these VMU mini-games over a long period of time and released these 'VMU Present' files for official download on the game's website:
http://web.archive.org/web/200312261824 ... nload.html (VMS files not archived)
http://web.archive.org/web/200208301637 ... /A_VM.html (A bit more detail about the VMU character mode)
A lot of the intricacies about the VMU modes are not covered in the US instruction manual. I was not aware about the 'sleeping character' situation until I read it at the above archived website.
I obtained two of the above presents (Free Continue and Eternal life) by raising a VMU character and playing the mini-games over the last two weeks. However, for the last two presents, I did some minor 'hex edits' via the VMU Dream Explorer disc. On the Dream Explorer disc, 3 of these present files can be found (under the Blue Swirl folder), however they are for the European/PAL version. As I have the NTSC version, I compared my present files to the PAL versions and noticed they were exactly the same minus the file names. So I made the following changes.....
Examples:
* Renamed VMU filename: Zombie_E_DDD (PAL) to Zombie_U_DDD (NTSC)
* Renamed internal VMU file name: Zombie_Revenge_Present_File to Zombie Revenge Present File (basically replaced dashes with spaces).
I also used a second VMU to download a BlueSwirl 'present file' and change the last 3 digits of the filename to see this would activate the remaining cheat I could not find online:
* Renamed VMU filename: Zombie_E_DDD (PAL) to Zombie_U_AAA (NTSC)
*Renamed internal VMU file name: Zombie_Revenge_Present_File to Zombie Revenge Present File (basically replaced dashes with spaces).
* Copied altered VMU file from second VMU to main VMU
And it worked!
