time for a tutorial attempt :)
ShindouGo request

as example, let's say we want make an ussload test disk with inside Shadow of the Beast, skipping the crack, the intro and the first loading too

directly into the action try

------ STEP ONE -------

we need to setup WinUAE on PC
the points described here are the same also on the pictures

1) setting an A500+ hardware, basic non expanded configuration;
an A500 from 0,5 to 1MB CHIP (CHIP mandatory) ram is also possible (for kickstart issues reason mainly)

2) putting the first disk of the game on df0:
Shadow of the Beast sadly uses only the internal disk drive
uss_tut1.JPG
3) select the chipset field

4) set it to OCS
uss_tut2.JPG

there is an optional setting, for some games that use more memory, that require an A500+ ECS (ECS mandatory) setting, plus :

5) select the 'RAM' field

6) set it to 1,5MB CHIP
uss_tut3.JPG

btw, that's not the case
start the emulation, and reach the begin of the first level;
you'll need to swap the disks to reach that point
uss_tut4.JPG

stop the emulation (F12), and make a savestate (.uss file) :

7) clicking on 'Miscellaneous'

8) and then on 'save state'

call the savestate TEST.USS (mandatory if you want use my empty test disk)
uss_tut5.JPG

ok, now we have a savestate, and we need to put it in a disk (.adf) to test it, loaded with USSload

------ STEP TWO --------

we need to setup a virtual Amiga hard disk

9) select 'CD & hard drives'

10) select 'add directory or archives'

11) select 'select directory' and point it to the place in your pc where the .uss savestate is (normally inside the public documents folder as default path)
uss_tut6.JPG

12) if all goes ok, you'll see the dh0: added in the virtual devices list :
uss_tut7.JPG

now, i proceed in this way
put a disk with AmigaDOS commands (like Workbench) in df0:
and the disk with the ussload in df1: (i'll share an empty test disk at the end of this tutorial)

restart the emulation, so this time with three devices (two floppy drives and one hard disk)

13) copy the test.uss into the uss test disk on df1:
using this command (or use whatever alternative method you prefer) :
uss_tut8.JPG

done, you should have a Shadow of the Beast starting test disk :)

you can now test it on UAE4ALL, remembering to swap the disk with the gamedisk, if you want proceed in the game (for further levels loading)

let me know if this is understandable

----

as last, i'll add an empty USSload disk, to fasten a bit all the procedure (unzip it and use it how it is, not write protected) :

glad to know you also reached :)
Midnight Resistance, good choice

that could have also a cd16 release, leaving just sfx enabled
Ian magic hands could add a cdda

Flood of Power tune is awesome
