Re: Q3A extra maps?
these are for PC players so that they can play those 23 maps that were previously exclusive to DC players. This allows them to play together online. These are not extra maps for the DC

Re: Q3A extra maps?
it should still be possible to play Quake 3 on the PC against DC users right?
In fact, there is an xbox port of quake 3 (with online play against PC users, but you get raped by mouse and keyboard users!), but it is a higher version than 1.16n. If it was reverted to 1.16n, we could have PC, DC, and xbox players all playing together!
I intend to try to get on with DC servers on pc, that way I can have a friend play at my house while I play on DC.

Re: Q3A extra maps?
i've got a keyboard and mouse
so my goal once I get my PC-DC server running is someone in my house playing on xbox, someone on PC, and someone on DC. Cross console gaming isn't even possible on modern consoles (with a few exceptions like Shadowrun).
This is pretty awesome. Whoever plays on xbox will probably get trashed.

Re: Q3A extra maps?
Does that mean PC users using latest release (1.32, afaik) wont be able to play with DC players? because right now im gathering a couple of guys to play with me, them on PC and I on DC.. So i need to tell them which version to get.Dihnekis wrote: In fact, there is an xbox port of quake 3 (with online play against PC users, but you get raped by mouse and keyboard users!), but it is a higher version than 1.16n. Re: Q3A extra maps?
PC/DC Facts:
1. PC users have to run version 1.16N ONLY to play with Dreamcast players!
2. The PC users must have the Dreamcast map pack installed.
3. If the server is set up correctly, you can use the DC CTF maps in standard deathmatch mode, not just as CTF.
