I've done something similar before... Albeit with a Blu-ray drive instead of a DVD one...

So how should we see this?
Dvd's as actual replacement for GD-ROM backups?
Or is the Dreamcast actual capable of playing dvd videos?
I believe dvd uses mpeg2 compression with only I- ans P-frames.
I know there are various VCD players, but the mpeg1 codec requires way less processing power.
