Hi,

Is there a post / website that explains how to create a a standalone cd rom image of NesterDC which would self boot one rom?

I am making a few games on NESmaker and would love to play them on my dreamcast when they are finished. Thanks

i've seen a few NES emulators on consoles boot straight into anything named "game.nes". i can't recall whether this works with NesterDC specifically, but it may be worth a try.

best of luck with NES development!

standalone mode is a feature of nester 7.1, 7.0, 6.0 and maybe older.

Is there a link to how to create a CD rom for nester 7.1 and how I would select for it to run in standalone mode. Thanks

The guy that made flea teamed up with the other guy that's making Harlequest and made this a few years ago to convert an NES rom to standalone Dreamcast self-boot cdi's:

https://lowtekgames.itch.io/nes-to-dreamcast

He also made a video on the process of how to get your self-booting cdi file ready. Since you're using NESmaker, you have to convert the Mapper 30 to Mapper 2 using iNES Header Checker. It's all in the video:

Works really good, you can even make your own VMU image with it.

ok faster & easy method:

download and open nesterdc-7.1.zip plain files (from dcemulation ?)

you only need ''files'' directory

put your desired game rom into ''games'' sub-directory (rename game.nes)

then use bootdreams (mode data/data, discjuggler) and select that directory (the one with 1st read.bin), to create a file *.cdi, that is it. It will boot straight to the game before ask controllers order / vmu select.
