Hello everyone. Some time ago I bought very cheap japanese dreamcast. It's first revision Va0. This console appeard on local auction site very cheap, so I inmediately bought it. Dreamcast itself is in nice shape, no visual damage. Someone just took good laser, and resell console. Inside also OK, no modding, no traces of anything suspicious. I have also VA0 european dreamcast, so I decided first to change power supply, controller board, and GD rom. Console still display black screen, no sound. It could be DAC, but wait VMU also displays nothing. Behaviour is the same like dreamcast without fan connected, but here in VA0 this protection is much simpler. Thermistor is connecting IC pin to 3.3V. I decided to make a connection on IC itself. Just in case - nothing has changed. Other idea, was a BIOS failure. I decided to swap bios from VA1 console - the same result. Last idea from yesterday was capacitors. I've changed all of them - console remain the same. Any ideas what it could be? Im consider to swap IC responsable for thermical protection, maybe is faulty. Other clue is RAM. With faulty RAM console cannot execute code. I hope we can find something together.

I noticed that I soldered tantalum capacitors wrong way. After correction, the same result.
