Anyone have trouble running Alone in the Dark?

I ordered a like-new copy of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare off of Ebay a year ago and it didn't work although there is not a single fingerprint or scratch on it and all that happens when I put the disk in is that it just sticks at the Dreamcast logo at the beginning.

I ordered another excellent copy off of Ebay, and got it in the mail and the same thing happens. Anyone else have problems with the game? they're all the right matching region codes and the rest of my DC games work just fine like Shenmue and Sonic Adventure... so I don't understand what's going on.

I'm thinking of ordering another Dreamcast but I somehow doubt that'll fix the problem since the rest of my games work on my current one. Any suggestions or comments from anyone? It's really frustrating... I just want to play the damn game. lol

Sorry, I have not ever seen a copy of it, let alone play it. I would strongly believe your Dreamcast is having issues. I have two links, both a good to watch. The British one shows a neat way of utilizing the lid of the Dreamcast as a support for the laser assembly, very witty. This segment also has a better lighted view of what he is doing than the other. The North American segment explains that he went clockwise after he did the counter-clock tips he saw on the web to get his going. The latter also has a better resolution pic of the actual "weird" screw as well as a much longer shot of it. He really explains that screw and the adjustment really well.
