It gets no more damaged than any other disc reading device. A cd player, a Bluray/DVD player, any Playstation system, etc. It is true the more you use ANYTHING in life, the quicker it will eventually die. But there is not some precedent that says Dreamcast's GDROM drives die faster than any other disc system device. In other words just play on. Worse possible thing that could happen is that your drive eventually dies and you need to put a GDEMU in instead, which costs all of $50. Shit, even a new Dreamcast console entirely you can buy for about the same price. RELAX people play your Dreamcast's in what ever manner you wish.
