Hello there!

So I do video restorations for a living and I wanted to remaster the background of the Dreamcast version of RE2 as a fun project, however the whole extraction project just hurts my brain too much seriously, does anyone has the all the bacground extracted with the correct naming scheme, so I can just do my thing and then share them with the community afterward?

I could do it with the PC version, but the Dreamcast has the best background and FMVs by far from what I gathered. (I did managed to get the fmvs, it was quite simple actually )

Also, would the engine accept a 2x resolution increase on the background so they can be rendered ingame at 480p?

I would say reach out to GreenRanger who recently put out a special edition of RE2 with LOTS of mods. Whether he replies to you though is another thing, I still haven’t heard back from him on my last request so I assume I’m being ignored or he’s busy.

Any of these groups find a way to extract from and re-insert files to the ROOMCUT.BIN of the Dreamcast title?
