How do you set up email on Dreamcast browsers?

I just saw on PlanetWeb that the address book is actually for addresses you want to email to, not for links to other websites that you are able to go to.

So that brings up the question: how do you send emails on a Dreamcast? I already set up myself on DreamPipe and noticed the in-browser address book and I wonder how you communicate with other users through the Dreamcast if possible.

This page gives instructions on configuring Gmail on the Dreampi. Note you'll want to create a new dedicated account, otherwise your entire inbox (including read and sent messages) will be cached on the pi and consume A LOT of space.

Huh…Gmail? I don’t primarily use that.

The PlanetWeb email client is too innocent for the modern internet. Most web email services require email encryption that the planetweb client does not support. Same goes for most SSL webpages.

Setting up your own POP3 and IMAP services is a real pain for the novelty of direct-from-dreamcast mail. Instead, I would recommend setting up a new gmail account and following the dreampi connection method mentioned earlier.
