JAP Dreamcast GD-ROM issues

Hello fellow Dreamcast enthusiasts

I have a Japanese Dreamcast (VA1 model) that can read discs normally when inserted. However, after playing for a while, the game starts to stutter, with very slow loading times and choppy audio, followed by the screen freezing. During this process, I can hear the laser lens moving back and forth as it tries to read, and then the disc suddenly slows down and stops spinning altogether, making it impossible to load any further content.

When I restart the console, the game reads normally again and works smoothly for a while, but then the same issue occurs after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay.

I initially thought it was an overheating issue, so I installed this GD-ROM drive in another working console to test, but the same problem persisted. :|

I’ve already replaced the capacitors on the GD-ROM drive PCB and adjusted the laser potentiometer, but neither solution worked. Can anyone offer any suggestions? :?:
