Bought a broken Treamcast a few months back.
Replaced the faulty motherboard with a late model Japanese VA1 (Bios does not work with MIL CD).

GDEmu works, had to do a bit of filing to get it to fit as part of the pcb hits the internal power board. Video is still through composite which is a bit crap, might try an internal VGA mod and new LCD.

I don’t suppose there is a GDI version of Dreamshell? Would like to flash this to a USA region system because the Auto-region and force Us settings in GDMenu causes games to not boot.

Like with most homebrew, it almost always seems to target CDI so no luck unless anyone can provide a tutorial on how to convert CDI to GDI.

The region lock and disable MIL-CD function would be enough to make me want to install the Japanese cake BIOS to fix the issue; but if that is outside of your soldering skill just replace with another VA1 board and call it a day.
