Connectivity quandry, can't connect Web Browser but can play Phantasy Star Online

I have a BBA that connects directly to my router, I can connect and play Phantasy Star Online using the prebuilt Sylverant-patched PSO CDI.

I'd like to be able to use my Dreamcast's web browser function to try out this new VMU cloud save and VMU icon customization from the comfort of my couch without juggling SD cards with Dreamshell.

When I connect to PSO, my connection settings are simple:

IP: 192.168.1.5
MASK: 255.255.255.0

DNS: 138.197.20.130
Default gateway 192.168.1.1

If I try those same settings on the web browser, I get nothing, And I've tried multiple browsers, Web Browser 2.xx, XDP.

Networking has always been a failure for me. I'd really appreciate some help understanding and overcoming this.

The BBA was released at the end of the Dreamcast's life. PlanetWeb 1.0, 2.0, and 2.62 do not support it. Only PlanetWeb 3.0 does. Later versions of Dream Passport should also support it, but Dream Key doesn't, since Sega didn't release the BBA in Europe at all.

Change your DNS setting to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 or 46.101.91.123

Sylverant-patched PSO CDI already have the correct game server ip , so you don't need set Sylveant ip again on DNS section (domain name system)

The reason why you can't browse websites is because that ip is not a domain resolver. Just replace to a public valid DNS service ip for internet domains, such as Google and Cloudfare , or even the main Dreamcast online DNS 46.101.91.123
