Advice on getting a DreamPi

Hello! I was wondering if it would be cheaper to build my own DreamPi, or wait for the supply kits to resupply online.
If you have any good ideas for getting parts if you support the building idea, please tell me!

It's probably cheaper to build your own, quicker, plus it's very easy to follow those guides. But regarding the line inducer, depending how much you play, it might be cheaper eventually to buy one from dreampi, than replacing those batteries every week.

Very quick and easy to build your own. A raspberrypi is stupid easy to set up.

I'd say get yourself a modem with built in line voltage inducer from the DreamPI shop. https://dreamcastlive.net/shop/
It goes in and out of stock often. However if its out to stock, just buy one elsewhere online and just ship it to DCLive. They can do a trade in for one with a built in LVI for you. Not worth hastling with batteries.

Heres a really cheap LVI that I've had my eyes on on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335840468561?m ... media=COPY

Only 12 left and I'm too poor to buy it (Its the only part I need) so hoping posting it here doesn't make it sold out by the time i get money haha

That will depend on the region of his console. I believe that a built in LVI modem will not work on a PAL console. If that's the case, he will have to buy or make a line inducer, with either batteries or powered by usb, while using a "regular" modem.

Ordering from outside of US, adding the cost of sending a modem to them, can be quite expensive specially for a person that live on a budget. I guess it's up to each individual.
