Treamcast is my favorite Dreamcast

A year or so ago I owned a black model and equipped with GDEMU, and recently acquired the white 4:3 one. As you’d expect it is just your typical VA1 that has a few extra wires to tap into sound and a special power supply that connects the LCD monitor, and the cooling fan has been moved to accommodate the front speaker.

I had planned to replace the defective LCD over the weekend. To access the display, there are 3 screws to remove - one is hidden behind the Treamcast decal, have to use a scalpel and some patience to lever it out, then use a spudger to unhinge the edges.

It turns out that these were fitted with a 7.2 inch widescreen display, but only a 5 inch 4:3 area is visible. I had planned to drop in a modern screen but turns out a 5 inch display is just not big enough. I am looking to get a 5.6 inch screen as it should be enough to fill the bezel properly. Will update once this is hopefully upgraded.
