That's not the problem. The problem is the data conversion from magic jack to the magic jack server, which decodes the compressed data and then sends it on it's merry way to....the dead data zone.

I asked the question twice here and answered something similar to at online consoles. It seems that it might work and it might not. Here is what I wrote at the OC:
I have done research and I found out that Voip uses data compression to transfer voice. It is not meant for data though so it might not work. Faxing works on it though. Here are some sites on this: http://www.magicjacksupport.com/using-m ... t3079.html

Quote on first reply- If your SD-DVR is a TiVo, then that's the problem. The DirecTV DVRs force a very low speed for their modems, which makes them very compatible with less-than-ideal phone lines, but TiVos try to connect at high speeds, and are generally incompatible with VOIP phonelines.

Maybe 33k modem will work?

This has got to be the best reference- http://www.magicjacksupport.com/modem-c ... t6137.html

Hopefully this helps!

EDIT: Found this quote from the last link- The only way I have been able to successfully effect a modem dial out is to use an ATA where you will have greater control over the transmission parameters.
Suggest a PAP2-NA

Here is the ATA he suggested- http://www.voiplink.com/Linksys_PAP2_NA ... ap2-na.htm

CAVEAT:This is against the MJ TOS, fwiw

Amazon has one here- http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Broadband ... B000HCTMZK
Here is a link to the thread- http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/php ... 81a1#78998

Hope this help! ;)

Guess it does not work. Some guy tried it: http://forums.g4tv.com/showthread.php?t=120138

Maybe you could adjust the settings on your dreamcast?
