This editorial is just plain biased,wrong and misleading. As a SEGA fan this is the type of bullshit that gets you're blood boiling.


Every since UGO(these people think SEGA is doomed) took over 1up after EGM bowed out, they've bashed Sega left and right and have had nothing but negetive propoganda to say about them, I mean come on even gamespot has loosened up on SEGA and now alot of people there are cheering for them. And kotaku.com is still loyal to Sega.

We don't have to buy this crap. Tell others how misleading and false this editorial is about SEGA.

No, it wasn't honest. It was just, anti-Sega propoganda. Instead of addressing the fact that Sega of America is restructuring and changing managment the article bashes the entire company as poorly run and depicts SOA as being dead. Which both are not true.

SEGA of America has suffered from poor management for years, they're just finally starting to realize what the problem has been for a long time. Jeremy just sounds ignorant and silly. And he's often mocked people believing in a "Dreamcast 2".

This topic points out how hateful and biased, UGO/1up is. They are in more ways anti-Sega. Every comment I've read regaurding SEGA, is: "Retire Sonic,STH4 is going to suck. "Nintendo needs to buy Sega", "Sega will never make another console", "Sega sucks", "SEGA should die".

... But we can all agree that SEGA is not as great as it used to be, right?

sega isnt what it used to be because they don't have a console. all they need is a console and they will be all set. but the problem is they would have to pull there 2k series from other consoles, and unless EA decides to port madden to the new console there will be no football. and believe me sports junkies are the easeist to make money off of.

I really do not read anything into the article that supports the statement that they "hate" Sega; not even in a kid-glove or cryptic fashion. I too feel negative about Sega being they are a different company than the Dreamcast era company. I'd like to see the numbers regarding the current employees versus the Dreamcast era employees. Sega does not know what to do with Sonic (Sonic vs King Author, really???) and the fact that they can't make that "mega game" like Activision (Call of Duty Series) EA Sports (Madden series) or Microsoft (Halo series).

Sega should team up with Apple and make a new console to be the following:

1. Dreamcast GD-ROM friendly
2. iPod friendly so you could be able to unlock mini games and upload it into your iPhone, iPad or iLid (like a VMU).
3. Learn what a real Sonic game should be and make a Sonic Adventure 3.
4. Revive PSO and other online games or concepts like Planet Ring.
5. Innovate the console with a video camera built in, a microphone and web browsing ability. The browser should have online upgrade support.
6. Finally release Shenmue 3.
7. Online casual gaming like Poker, Jewel Quest and other light-weight games but in a community.


Ok, I'm done...

While we are at it, could this console also be used as a home computer with SegaOS? Like, run Microsoft's EXEs and stuff. Think about it, a uber-fast console with OS possibilities. Like the Other OS that Sony removed from their consoles recently.

Also, GD-Rom support would not be very good money-wise. Nobody makes anything close to them anymore, and almost nobody has them anymore. Please just add them as part of the Sega Downloadable Library.

Sega doesn't need saving. They are getting TONS of cash from Mario & Sonic games, Arcade cab sales, and bunch more other recently released software.

AVP was topped the charts with its sales. Bayonetta did very good as well.

Anyway, let me read the article and I'll get back to you. I got nothing to do anyway....i'm at work...

Ok, I read a little of it. I stopped half way through because I got bored but I believe I got the jist of it.

Too bad they harped WAY TOO MUCH on the whole "Crappy Sonic game" thing. Yes, we know that Sega makes shitty sonic games for drooling 5 year olds. Ya, that makes them money. As long as stupid house wives feel obligated to run that credit card through the slot so that they don't have to worry about their kids for a few days then whatever.

The point of the matter is that they aren't saying anything new or innovative. Yes, kudos to them for acknowledging BLATANT REALITY, meaning revive the classics. Every single Sega fan in the last decade has been saying the same exact thing.

Where is Streets of Rage 4?

Where is the Vectorman 3?

Where is Shenmue 3?

Where is the new space harrier?

Outrun 2 was a great success. Probably one of my most beloved PS2 games. We all know Sega has it in them. They've been making one blockbuster after another. Problem is that someone in the higher echelon of the company has a hard on for Downloadable content video games. This is fine....I don't agree with it....but whatever it will only help and the funny thing is they made this whole entire article based around the fact that ....paraphrase 'Sega is in trouble because they are moving towards downloadable games'.....WHAT?

Isn't everyone moving towards downloadable games? That's the new thing. Why manufacture it if you can just send them the game via internet connection and transfer the cash from their bank account to yours?

Sega isn't dying because its embracing downloadable content. That would mean every other developer in the world is dying then.

This article doesn't blow my skirt up. All it does is just regurgitate the obvious and will have Sega fans screaming at their computer monitors saying "I SAID THAT 7 YEARS AGO!".
