Black boxed VMU, hot or not?

Just been looking on ebay for another VMU (after seeing the "cumulative save" bug on half life I figured a dedicated VMU would be in order)

So luckily for me one of the cheapest VMUs on ebay was a boxed black VMU, never opened. Very cool :)

But then I got to thinking, if its black and unopened would a collector better benefit from having one. Since all I'll do is open the packaging and pull out the battery tab. But then I thought if it was quite so saught after, it'd be slightly more than the £3.99 price tag (inc postage)

Thought I'd get the collectability factor from forum members before I go pulling out battery tabs I cant put back lol

I tend to get a bit weird about this stuff. You should have seen the look of disgust on my face when I saw the guy from Wizard Sleeve wearing a medallion made out of an old NES Zelda cart! Beside myself I was!!

Actually looking at ebay boxed VMUs seem to be ten a penny.

Slight overreaction on my part I reckon
