Do you have to use the official VS link cable for Dreamcast?

I am having trouble finding a official VS link cable. I have read that a lot of people have had issues with the third party link cable working. I can easily find the Neo Geo to Dreamcast link cable and the Neo Geo pocket link cable. Will either of those two work?

Neo Geo Pocket Link Cable
From the crappy pics they look to have the same connector on each end but I don't know if that means it would work to link two Dreamcasts together. I am hoping the pocket link cable works because I have found them for under $5.00 shipped.

i`m not sure that connectors on each ends is the same , correct me if i`m wrong .

I have not tried to contact them yet. If I buy from overseas I normally use play-asia or buy it on Yahoo Auctions Japan.

The place selling the pocket link cable just has a pic of the box. The pic I posted is the best one I could find.

I have asked them and
they dont sell that product anymore ...
We are sorry that we had sold out this DC VS link cable (DC) already and it get no longer available.

Actually:
Daytona doesnt Link.
Capcom vs SNK doesnt link with VS cable, only neo geo link.
the Ferrari game is linkable
a Japanese tetris game is
Virtual-On is
Aerodancing I i believe is too.
and another one i cant remember.
Sega has an official cable too, it just was a rare print. I almost got one not too long ago, they are soooo rare though. I got a Dragoncast one from canada and it was broken when i got it so i had to return it. Plus they have a HIGH D.O.A. rate (the dragoncast) so make sure you know the person ur getting it from.
I am looking to buy a working one or a sega brand one if someone is selling
