Configure Questions for a BBA n00b

Hey guys, finally made the jump after a few years of lurking and bought my first BBA. I never got to play PSO online back in the day, I'd only play the single player version, so I'd love to be able to at least try it once.

Now, I'm trying to setup my Dreamcast to simply be able to go online, but I'm having a few problems. I'm trying to follow the nice PSO tutorial here, but I can't even make it to the game steps. When I load up XDP to configure my internet settings, I go in there and change the DNS server to my PC's IP, but after I do that there is nowhere to click "Save" or anything like that. I get a message at the bottom of the screen the whole time saying "Warning: Flash read error". Any ideas why that's happening? I've got a single controller with a VMU and jump pack inserted, and the VMU works fine (I checked the saves beforehand). The BBA is connected to my router and XDP seems to recognize it because it says "BbA" in the bottom of the browser. Any help you can give me there would be great!

Next up, as a long time internet user with my Saturn NetLink, I yearn to simply just cruise the web with the web browser. Is there a way I can do this without doing a PC setup? Do I have to manually configure settings? I just want to be able to connect to a LAN slot on my router and be off on my way. That and I simply just want to test that the BBA is working.

Any help for a total newbie would be much appreciated. I'm looking forward to many posts on these boards. :)

Wow, that was fast. Where can I find this "auto connect disk"? Sounds like a winner. I'm about to try the 2.6 browser, I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the help.

Ahh, okay. I thought the auto connect was for the web browser. I have both NTSC/U PSOv1 and 2, and desirably I'd like to use my v1 disc to connect. Semantics, I know, but it's part of the experience for me.

The 2.6 browser will save my data, but I'm still unable to connect to the net. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Am I just supposed to change the first DNS server to my LAN'd PC's IP address? That's not working for me.

V1 isn't possible because hunters license server is down.

In the guide it says you are able to connect via PSOv1 US NTSC, but I guess it's out of date? So that means that no US releases of PSO can be played online? Would my serial number and access keys still work from the US versions on that PAL disc?
